Crawford (Ancient)
your tartan, your story
The Crawford clan, originating from the Lowlands of Scotland, traces its lineage back to the early medieval period. The name "Crawford" is derived from the barony of Crawford in Lanarkshire, which means "ford of the crows" in Old English. The Crawfords have a storied history marked by their involvement in the Wars of Scottish Independence, with notable figures like Sir Reginald Crawford, the Sheriff of Ayr, who supported William Wallace.
